Trying to find an affordable saddle that doesn’t have a plastic tree or poor quality leather?

Need a saddle with a ‘non-standard’ tree or seat size?

Have you met Thornhill?
Buit on a quality spring trees the leather and workmanship rivals brands that cost a lot more.
The trees are beechwood spring trees, the leather is English and their saddles and strap goods are made on 3 continents: Europe, North America and South America.

Please note: Gullet sizing is different from standard sizing – I’ve found the X-Wide equates to XXW to XXXW in interchangeable gulletted saddles.

Below is a small selection of what Thornhill offers – we can source other models to get the right combination for you and your horse.

PRO-TRAINER® We assure you that only the most expensive hand selected bridle leather is used. We make Pro-Trainer® saddles and strap goods on 3 continents: Europe, North America and South America. The saddle panels contain a proprietary wool/closed cell vinyl foam sandwich which maintains its shape. Trees are available in three or more widths. Our standard tree fits most normal American Thoroughbreds. The medium tree is over an inch wider and fits Arabs, Morgans, etc. The wide trees is for horses with wide backs and / or virtually no withers (e.g. large Warmbloods, Quarter Horses, Percherons). Pro-Trainer® bridles and strap goods are selected to match our saddles and meet the same quality standards.

Vienna II – Hoop tree with wither clearance, similar to Duett Largo.

The GERMANIA® line consists of renowned German products, modified by a German saddler, with the help of American Olympic riders at Southern Pines over a two year period. The three saddles are the result of this Americanization.
